The hotel owes its name to the ancient city of XIFOUPOLIS. The whole area of, what today is known as, XIFIAS used to be the ancient XIFOUPOLIS. Interestingly enough, one of the very first residents of XIFIAS was an English man back in 1957. Nowadays many Germans and British nationals have bought their own houses in the area enjoying not only the scenery but also one of the best climates someone can get.
