Villa Galini was designed in the ’70s by the renowned architect Kapsampelis as the residence of Giannis Carra’s family. The design was based on the austere form of the monastic architecture of Mount Athos.
Following its construction, the Villa opened its gates to elite friends, such as Salvador Dali, Melina Merkouri, Konstantinos Karamanlis, Rudolf Nureyev, Francois Mitterand, and Gina Bahauer, of whom the piano is, to this day, a jewel in the music Suite
The private chapel of Ag. Ioannis is hidden at the peak of the hill and is well worth a visit to enjoy both the magic view reaching the islands of Sporades and a unique feeling of peace.
